We are looking for someone to work along side us in the day-to-day farming operation. The success of our farm comes from the desire to grow and be progressive, a strong work ethic, and the ability to think outside the box.
Our ideal team member would either have or be willing to obtain a 1A licence, experience feeding cattle and silaging as well as experience operating seeding/harvest equipment. Mechanical ability an asset.
Our ranch has a cow/calf operation as well as a small feedlot. We do some custom silaging in the summer as well as custom bale hauling (local area) in the fall. The grain portion of our operation is predominantly for cow feed which consist of corn and barley crops.

Duties include:

Daily feeding of the main cowherd (cow/calf pairs) and backgrounding/finishing calves from January-June and October-December. The employee will be required to read feed bunks and use batch sheets to calculate and mix appropriate feed rations for each type of cattle being fed. Maintain and repair feed equipment as needed. 

Cattle Herd Health – Identify disease and health concerns of individual animals in pens and on pasture. The employee will train with our Veterinarian to identify and treat health concerns based on our herd health protocols. 

April-May: Assist with calving – routine herd checks identifying calving cows and those with dystocia, correcting malpresentation and delivering calves, ear tagging and new calf treatments will be completed daily. 

Farm Equipment operation to seed, prepare and harvest feed for the cattle for the winter months. These duties may include the following: seeding, forage harvester operation, silage truck driving, baling, raking, bale hauling and combining. The employee will help to maintain and repair the above equipment as needed. 

Longer hours required during calving, seeding & harvest.

Flexibility for days off/holidays during non peak times. 

Wage is dependant on experience. Full benefits package available.
