Milker/ Dairy Herdsman
Full-Time, Long-term, Dependable Individual
$4,400 Salary
Living Accommodations, Fully-furnished & Utilities included
Milk Cows- Tie-stall Barn, 75 Head
Feeding Dairy Herd
Ensuring water is available & cows are fed Hay, Grain
Cleaning & Sanitization of Equipment and milk house
Scrapping, Preparing & Maintaining Bedding Pens
Monitoring Health and well-being of Dairy Herd
Recognize & Report Health concerns or problems
Heat/ Pregnancy/ Maternity care before & after (fresh cows)
Hauling Hay & Straw bales into Dairy Barn
Treatment of Cattle, Mastitis Control
Cattle Hoof Trimming/ Clipping & Treatment (assisting)
Organizing Feed & Supplies
Knowledge of Milking Equipment
Operating & maintaining of Farm Equipment
Perform many other General Farm Duties
Miscellaneous Farm & Yard related tasks
Handyman Skills
Empathy for animals
Flexible and adapts to change quickly & easily
Schedule is basically 12 Days on & 2 days off (every second weekend off)
Milking Morning & Night Split Shifts
Required Experience: 1-2 years working with Dairy Cows, Tie-stall experience an asset
